|Anthony Russell and Sustainable Luxury|
He is a Kenya-based, real life Mick Dundee style hunter turned conservationist.
He is also an award-winning architect and an artist, and just about the most riveting story teller you are ever likely to come across.
His benchmark-setting development of the Shompole lodges has been much written about and the concept copied throughout East Africa, but it is the conservation aspect of the project that he always tries to emphasise.
The son of a white hunter in Kenya, Anthony spent much of his life tracking big game in the vast wilderness of the African continent. Somewhere along the line, he traded hunting for wildlife preservation and now looks after an expanding pride of lions not just at Shompole but throughout Kenya, including the north of the country, where there is ongoing conflict between lion, man and livestock.
